FAQ
About the comic
Is The Misfit Caucus™ real or fiction?
Both, deliberately. Every dialogue line traces back to a verifiable real post. The narrative connective tissue (panel sequencing, scene framing, character interiority) is creative interpretation. We document the difference rigorously — see /methodology.
Why manga? Aren't political comics usually editorial cartoons?
Editorial cartoons are joke-shaped — single panel, one idea, fast hit. Manga lets us do something different: the slow build, the relationship arc, the way a real character actually loses control of a conversation over six pages. Seinen/Gekiga hybrid in particular handles morally ambiguous adult material well, which is what we have here.
Who is R. Cruzitai?
The author. Pen name. The work is the answer; the person isn't the point. Press inquiries to press@socialtruthpress.com.
Is this satire? Parody? Documentary?
It is satirical commentary built on documented source material, presented as creative non-fiction in the manga form. Legally, it operates under the protections established for parody, satire, and editorial fair use of public figures' public statements.
About sourcing
How do you know the posts you quote are real?
Multi-layer verification: native platform capture, Wayback Machine archive cross-check, and (where applicable) syndication via news outlets. Every panel's source is logged in the underlying database with confidence tier (CONFIRMED, SECONDARY-CONFIRMED, COLLECT, DISPUTED).
What happens if a post you quoted gets deleted?
It still happened. Our archives preserve the original; the methodology is the receipt.
What if you got something wrong?
Email corrections@socialtruthpress.com. We publish corrections promptly and visibly. Per the methodology, the comic ages well only if the record ages well.
About the legal stuff
Can I get sued for sharing your comic?
Sharing a link or quoting briefly with attribution is fine — that's standard fair use. Republishing entire panels or chapters without permission is not. See /terms.
You quoted a real public figure. Can they sue YOU?
The work uses public statements made by public figures in their official capacity, presented in editorial / satirical context, with the methodology fully documented. The standards for defamation against a public figure on matters of public concern are extremely high (see New York Times v. Sullivan); we built the documentation infrastructure to meet them. We also carry E&O insurance starting at launch.
How do I file a DMCA takedown?
/dmca — full procedure + Designated Agent contact. We respond within one business day to properly-formed notices.
